About That Grandmom

Building Stronger Families—One Grandparent at a Time

At That Grandmom, we believe that no grandparent or kinship caregiver should have to navigate the journey of raising children alone. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting grandparents and relatives who have stepped into the parenting role by providing resources, education, advocacy, and a compassionate community.

Whether the transition came unexpectedly or through careful planning, we understand the challenges that come with starting over. Our mission is to ensure every caregiver has access to the support, encouragement, and practical tools needed to build a stable and loving home.

Together, we are creating a village where caregivers are seen, heard, and empowered.

Why We Exist

Across the country, millions of grandparents are raising their grandchildren due to family hardships, illness, military deployment, incarceration, substance use disorders, mental health challenges, or other life circumstances.

Many caregivers suddenly find themselves parenting again while navigating financial, emotional, and legal challenges with little support.

That Grandmom exists to remind every caregiver that they are not alone. We are committed to walking alongside families with compassion, encouragement, and hope.

Meet Our Founder

Leah Le'Gette founded That Grandmom after her own life changed dramatically when she became the primary caregiver for her grandchildren. What began as a personal journey quickly revealed the tremendous need for support among grandparents and relatives raising children.

As an educator, nonprofit founder, and passionate advocate, Leah recognized that countless families were facing similar challenges—often in silence. She created That Grandmom to provide a place where caregivers could find resources, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

Her vision is simple but powerful:

No grandparent should have to raise a child alone.
